Information technology is no longer strategically? Yes, IT is not strategic because it is now more essential, indispensable to the survival of any business in all segments. Even a simple street vendor who, in many cases, even have a current account, is part of a supply chain that, to exist, depends on technology. Simple as it is to supply your business, your provider will certainly use IT systems to plan, produce, sell, distribute and receive. That is, even indirectly, the technology enables the business of hawking.

In its early days, IT was treated simply as data processing and seen as a resource to support some business processes within the organization, particularly the administrative and financial, generally called the back office. Upsetting the model occurred when the technology came from the wings to improve the effectiveness of the front office.

Discomfort of waiting for the checkout enter the prices in the cash register was replaced by the simplicity of a bar code reader doing the same thing, faster and without errors. You can not now imagine a world without ATMs, POS terminals, self-service in airports, terminals recharge prepaid mobile phones, gates, automatic parking control, electronic toll, the gates of bank services on the Internet, Google to seek information, the GPS in our cars and thousands of other applications without which we no longer know how to survive.

These examples show how technology has changed the relationship between the corporate world and its customers. Rather, this relationship was established between people simply. Then began to be made using the technology as a tool for companies approaching them, improving their relationship. In other words, today the technology actually works to better serve the human being. It's quite a change.

The companies immediately acceded to this reality and to the extent that resources have become cheaper, and smaller companies now use IT resources in their business processes. This gave the growing acceptance of the adjective strategic technology, which lasted for a long time. Some time ago I came out of a garage and a small computer vision to make it an appliance. Pronto! It was a great evolution, but the best was to come. Terrified by the imminence of nuclear war in the destruction of data processing centers would result in a catastrophe, came the idea of a large network in the fall of one point would not result in the collapse of the entire system, since paths alternative would be in charge of maintaining the flow of information. And so, the terror of nuclear holocaust, the Internet was born and a new user profile.

At this time, that exposure to IT users created even more demanding and aware of the potential that arose, the technology finally won the status of indispensable. As important as the electrical energy, today would be impossible to think of a world without it.

In the corporate world, this scenario has become even clearer. Because information is an asset that adds value, companies need to make your IT a competitive edge by seeking solutions that ask for investments and leaner at the same time optimize the performance and bring good business results. IT is increasingly present in day-to-day activities of corporations, since the automation of production processes and administrative, logistics and everything revolves around the information it can generate.

Without technology the company stops but the market does, which means lost customers and market share. It is no longer a strategy, it is survival and membership is compulsory. Today, survival requires security, efficiency and high availability of IT infrastructure to enable continuous service and quality to customers. Services based on these processes and systems more effective.

This is the current scenario where IT went from supporting player in the creation and maintenance of lasting business relations and profitable.
