Consortium Wins Bid for Minas Gerais project that involves the entire network infrastructure of the City Administration, with subsequent management through IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service)

Sao Paulo, April 2010 - CIMCORP , a company specializing in services of high complexity, performance optimization and management of IT infrastructure, and NetService won the bid to implement the entire network infrastructure of the City Administration of Belo Horizonte, the original project state government that brings together all departments of the state in an area of 804 thousand square meters. The amount of R $ 104.8 million and delivery of the first phase held in December, the bid was won by the consortium created by the companies, called Consortium Minas Gerais.

The venture voluptuous, designed by Aecio Neves, aims to increase the efficiency of public services, streamline operating costs, facilitate access to public services, housing all administrative departments of government, whether direct or indirect, and improve working conditions public servants. With architecture by Oscar Niemeyer, the City Administration has 270,000 square feet of building area, and has the capacity to house 17 000 10 000 public servants and visitors. The structure includes: the Government Palace, which has seven floors, three-level auditorium with 540 seats and secretaries and support the Family Center, with 15 floors and two buildings.

Seen as a bold project, the consortium was responsible for supply, installation, configuration and operation of the entire network of the enterprise. In addition, the management model after implementation will be through IaaS (Infrastructure as a service), or as monthly payments, a trend in the provision of IT services. The unprecedented architecture and distinctive design included the implementation of a converged multiservice network that involves data, voice, image, security and monitoring system, including third party and there is no information to flow out of the network designed by CIMCORP. The equipment was supplied by Cisco , which first met all of its product portfolio in a single project.

All buildings are serviced with wired and wireless network, the latter comprising 333 access points. On the local network are approximately 26 000 access points Gigabit Ethernet, targeting groups of users and service, segregation of the various entities located in the City Administration, as well as the different services supported by the solution, prioritization of services and switches for load balancing between servers. The system adopted is purely IP telephony throughout the plant, with 11 000 branches and handsets with advanced technological features such as high-resolution color display, application support and implementation of XML encryption. The security environment will consist of intrusion prevention systems (IPS), firewall solution and correlation of events, with access control systems to network-based NAC - Network Access Control.
