| Minas Gerais Regional Labor Court invests in virtualization to ensure high availability |

A CIMCORP project has consolidated the institution’s servers, making room for a new site redundancy service, which will allow simultaneous updates and the end of unavailability and loss of information risks At the end of 2006, the high number of accesses to the server and the presence of a single data center centralizing the entire server and storage infrastructure for production systems, accessed by the Regional Labor Court of Minas Gerais as well as by several Labor Circuit Courts, began to cause disorder and important services of the institution became paralyzed. In order to solve this problem, CIMCORP, a company specialized in services of high complexity, performance optimization and IT infrastructure management, had the winning bid opened by the government of Minas Gerais. CIMCORP’s challenge was to increase the level of availability of the data center, guaranteeing the continuity of access to the various systems being produced. The success of this implementation opened the way for other projects, as in the case of site redundancy, a service that will be implemented by June of this year. The first step was the construction of a secondary data center with new servers, followed by the implementation of Disaster Recovery, Vmware, storage system and fiber channel switch mechanisms. Besides this, CIMCORP, through its Professional Service team, implemented a CWDM interconnection between both data centers, interconnection of the SANs (storage area network) and the local network environment, synchronized data replication between the storages and the integration of the entire Vmware virtualization environment. The VMware SRM (Site Recovery Manager), which manages the operational activity between the production data center and the secondary data center, was used integrating them with the storage data replication. After the conclusion of this step, the TRT-MG decided to continue investing in the IT area, with a site redundancy project, with CIMCORP being once again the bid winner. With this implementation, it will be possible to update both sites simultaneously, avoiding system failures or unavailability. “We gained in availability with both projects. Firstly, with the virtualization of several servers and the replication of the data centers; afterwards, with a backup site that prevents that we suffer with failures, since in case of a problem, the other one takes over the services integrally”, affirmed Carlos Avelar, support and teleprocessing director of the TRT-MG
