Petrobras has invested U.S. $ 5.8 million in a supercomputer to carry out research in oceanography and geophysics at UFRJ. Developed by IT CIMCORP and named Neptune, the computer is the first of six units that Petrobras intends to install in Brazilian universities. The budget for the next computers is estimated at $ 24 million. |

CIMCORP, integrator and solutions provider of information technology and outsourcing developed for the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro's largest computer from Latin America to be used for academic research. Named for Neptune, the machine was funded by Petrobras, which would benefit from studies in the field of oceanography and geophysics conducted by ECN (Electronic Computer Center), UFRJ. |
